Oh hey, we’re back, and we have new Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout news because of course we do. These guys know how to keep us in the hype cycle, and of course, it’s not because we like the game or anything. In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Anthony Pepper, Senior Designer at Mediatonic, detailed several interesting changes to keep the game fresher than some of the giant fruit that gets launched at you out of giant cannons (it’s not the most familiar of analogies, but it applies).
After months of teasing, Big Yeetus, a hammer obstacle designed to propel overly-cautious beans forward to either doom or salvation, is coming in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’s newest update. The hammer, lovingly given its name by the suitably-memey Twitter account @FallGuysGame, will appear randomly in levels going forward. You might want to look over your pigeon-outfitted jellybean shoulder from time to time in case you’re about to receive an unwelcome boost forward.
However, its not just a friendly hammer swinging by (ah? No?) with this update – the developers over at Mediatonic has also introduced several randomized changes into Fall Guys. Pepper had the following to say:
Familiar favourites will have to be tackled in all-new ways, with the addition of dozens of obstacles, dizzyingly random rotations and of course, plenty of tumbling fruit. And what’s more, players will have no idea when these changes will occur — no bean’s dignity shall be spared!”
Finally, Fall Guys also gets some VFX optimization improvements, alongside enhanced server stability, as well as a “whole lot more” to make Fall Guys “just that little bit smoother”, wrote Pepper. Going forward from this, we recently got a short look at Fall Guys Season 2, and it looks to take us back to the Middle Ages, with medieval-themed rounds and costumes to look forward to. We’re excited about what the future holds for this indie gem. Are you? Leave us a comment.
