Marvel’s Avengers – Hawkeye’s New Suit
But not all Marvel news is good news.
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics recently revealed Hawkeye’s new suit for Marvel’s Avengers. The suit features Hawkeye with a completely shaved head and wearing leather pants with a black leather jacket, all with “gold accents” inspired by its counterpart worn by Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) in Avengers: Endgame. Marvel’s Avengers Hawkeye’s new suit follows a similar update applied to Black Widow, while also setting a precedent for future MCU-character updates within the game. But the fan response upon announcement of the update has been less than great.
Unfortunately, many fans are unhappy with Hawkeye’s new suit because it is inspired by its Avengers: Endgame counterpart rather than an exact replica of it.
However, this is apparently part of a larger issue that fans have had with Square Enix. They have long claimed that Square Enix routinely ignores that their concerns when it comes to new developments and they seem to unfairly resist any attempt at user feedback. Since this seems to be yet another example of their disregard of fans, many feel the need to be especially vocal as to possibly change the current protocol around fan input.
Other Fans Excited
While many fans are unhappy, many others are excited for the updates to Marvel’s Avengers Hawkeye’s suit. They enjoyed the similarities to the Avengers: Endgame counterpart. Some even express understanding that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are probably limited by how much they can recreate these characters in the likeness of the actors that portrayed them in the MCU movies.
The skin for Hawkeye’s new suit will be available for purchase in Marvel’s Avengers on May 13. There is currently no confirmed price for it.
Marvel’s Avengers is currently available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Stadia, and PC.
