Far Cry 6 is now available for purchase on all platforms, letting players step into the blood-soaked world of Yara. As a male or female Dani Rojas, you’ll work with your fellow Yaran people to stand up to Anton Castillo’s oppressive regime, looking to liberate those who have been strongly oppressed. As you’re working your way through your adventure though, you may want to save your progress so you can return where you left off. If this is you, no need to worry. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to save your game in Far Cry 6!
How to Save in Far Cry 6
Figuring out how to save in Far Cry 6 is, admittedly, a little unconventional. See, it’s impossible to manually save or load in Far Cry 6. Instead, the game autosaves at pre-determined points, letting you seamlessly pick back up right where you left off. This may sound incredibly frustrating at first, but there’s a way to trick the game. First of all, whenever you’re free of other duties, head to the map and fast travel to a convenient location to start from. This could be a town, a Hideout, or what have you. Once you’ve gotten there, the game will have saved your progress. It’s an imperfect workaround, but it’s the best you’re going to get unfortunately.

While this means it’s impossible to save during missions, the game is quite lenient in its autosave system. It’ll save at key points during these missions, so if you find yourself falling to Castillo’s forces, it’s not the end of the world. You can still get back in the fight and introduce them to several shots of lead should you desire. That, or perhaps a machete to the neck will be more rewarding.
Far Cry 6 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and Google Stadia.
