A brand new story trailer for Far Cry New Dawn has hit the web and it looks to be a wild, post-apocalyptic romp.
Check out the new clip below:
*SPOILERS FOR FAR CRY 5*
The spinoff to 2018’s Far Cry 5 takes places years after the game’s ending and features a new cast of characters along with a few familiar faces. New to the game is a slew of fresh weapons at your disposal, a post-apocalyptic landscape, more “guns for hire”, and a threatening group run by two sinister twins.
Here’s Ubisoft’s description from the trailer:
Sh*t just got real. Face off against the ruthless highwaymen and their leaders the Twins as you fight to survive in a dangerous post-apocalyptic frontier. Form unexpected alliances, build a deadly arsenal of makeshift weapons and gear using the remnants of the old world to survive against all new threats.
Another thing of note in the trailer is the appearance of Joseph “The Father” Seed, the main antagonist in Far Cry 5, who seems to have survived the ending of the last installment. It looks like this time around, you’ll be banding together with the maniacal cult leader to rid the area of the highwaymen.
Far Cry New Dawn was announced at 2018’s E3 less than a year after its predecessor, Far Cry 5. The latter title was generally well-received but received heavy criticism for its ham-fisted and ultimately ineffective political commentary on the state of America today. Whether New Dawn will follow the same path is unclear.
Far Cry New Dawn will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 15th, 2019.
