The acclaimed MMO, Final Fantasy 14 has great news for those players looking for things to do during the end game. FFXIV New Dungeons will feature two difficulties and two new names. Said names are Variant and Criterion. These dungeons will offer players something that they have been asking for a while—a bigger difficulty for content that doesn’t require a group of eight people. FFXIV July Live Letter had a lot of announcements in store, but the one about FFXIV New Dungeons is one of the most exciting ones about the FFXIV 6.2 upcoming patch.
FFXIV New Dungeon Difficulties Are Called Variant And Criterion
Now, delving deep into FFXIV Dungeons. Let’s start with the Variant. As the name might suggest, this dungeon’s difficulty will vary depending on the size of the party. Players can attempt to finish this dungeon solo or in groups of two, three, and four players. One thing that surprised us was that the dungeon would offer not only one route. It will have more. Depending on the actions that players take inside FFXIV New Dungeons, they might find themselves in a different area of the dungeon. This gives players a bit of replayability and customized content for a few runs. One other thing that was announced during this last live letter is that players inside the FFXIV new dungeons can change jobs. Something that was only possible during PvP or content like Bozja Southern Front.
The other addition in FFXIV New Dungeons is the Criterion difficulty. Players have to queue in a party of four members. The outcome of the dungeon is one, and the difficulty is akin to Savage or Mythic in World of Warcraft. The thing that makes it a lot more difficult is that players can only revive for limited times. After reviving members for “x” amount of times, you run out of revives. This makes planning and executing essential parts of running FFXIV New dungeons.
So far, players seem happy with this content. Endwalker has received critical acclaim from all places. It finished a 10-year-long story, and now the extra patches are looking very promising. The game has grown so much that the game had to be delayed to make it even better. Let’s see how the patch will be this next August.
