Fans of Final Fantasy XIV (otherwise popularly known as FFXIV) may have been met with confusion when they tried to log in today. Some may have been hoping to finish storylines due to the release delay of FFXIV Endwalker. Unfortunately, the FFXIV servers have been down throughout the day for another reason. There’s nothing to become all too alarmed about, which is a relief for those anxious over the servers being offline. The game is temporarily undergoing updates. and is the first update since FFXIV resulted in a massive wave of success earlier this year. Starting at 1AM, they plan to keep the FFXIV servers down until tomorrow, December 3, at the same time. From there, early access will begin for our next big story!
What to Expect for the FFXIV Endwalker Release
Though the FFXIV servers are down for the moment, that hasn’t stopped the development team from keeping hype for Endwalker going. A music video has been released on their YouTube channel, featuring the artist Sia covering Frank Sinatra’s ‘Fly Me To The Moon.’
The apt-yet-beautiful video shows a recap of major events throughout all FFXIV expansions up to this point. It combines famous cinematic moments from each to make a nice trailer of sorts. If you haven’t heard, it will be the finale to the Hydaelyn and Zodiark clash that has been building since A Realm Reborn. With so much to see, fans are excited for the release on December 7.
If you happen to be a fan that went ahead and pre-ordered, tomorrow is your lucky day. Those who pre-ordered FFXIV Endwalker will get immediate access once the servers come back from being down. Some fans will be waiting up just so they can hop on at launch. That said, if you don’t have it pre-ordered, never fear. After a short weekend wait, Tuesday will bring you into the fold. In the meantime, why not read over the complete patch notes online? It details multiple improvements and additions to the game at many levels. With it, hopefully, you can whet your appetite.
