Recently, Final Fantasy 16 fans were treated to an in-depth look at the game’s world, Valisthea, through a brand-new trailer that showcased its world. The game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, has been on a lengthy media tour in recent months to discuss the project as its release date approaches, providing fans with a plethora of information about the game. He has clarified various details, including the length of one playthrough, the combat mechanics, and even the runtime of cutscenes. During the annual convention PAX East this past weekend, Yoshida held two panels discussing the games he is currently working on.
On Friday, Yoshida hosted a Q&A panel specifically for Final Fantasy 14, answering numerous fan questions and even teasing possible Final Fantasy 16 crossover content for the game. Another panel focused on Final Fantasy 16, where Yoshida provided more details about the game, including an extensive cinematic trailer that showcased the various environments of Valisthea.
Final Fantasy 16 Trailer Shows Jaw-Dropping Look at Valisthea
Although this trailer was first shown to PAX East attendees and over Twitch, the official Final Fantasy 16 Twitter account posted the entire two-minute trailer, featuring in-game footage of Clive, Torgal, and one of his companions traversing a rocky canyon and crossing a mountainous region on Chocobo. Clive can also be seen exploring various environments, including a town adorned with lush greenery, a settlement in a red-stone canyon, a bustling city, and a dense forest.

The Final Fantasy 16 trailer showcases sweeping cinematic pans of the game’s environments, such as piers attached to a lake, a road with a windmill off to the side, and a set of ruins. Clive is also shown exploring hostile places like a palace during a storm and a volcano. The trailer even reveals a war-torn town and a gate containing the game’s plot-essential elemental crystals.
The trailer ends with a shot of Clive and his friends admiring the sunset, and it reminds fans of the game’s release on June 22 exclusively on PS5. During the panel, fans also got a glimpse of the menu UI, Clive’s aging throughout the game, and even one of the game’s cutscenes. Yoshida also showcased an important mechanic of Final Fantasy 16, allowing players to pet Clive’s wolf companion, Torgal. Finally, and arguably the best thing in the trailer, was the magical musical score. Final Fantasy is known for its mesmerizing music, and it seems that will remain true in the Final Fantasy 16 world.
