I’ve been an avid collector of cards from the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game since its worldwide release in 2016. I have so many cards in both English and Japanese. I’ve never actually played the game though, in fact, I’ve never even read the rules.
It turns out that not everyone is like me, some people actually play the game. The maniacs. Some of those players are also quite good at it and it’s these players that will soon be on the stage at the Final Fantasy TCG World Championship.
Due to take place at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport hotel, the Final Fantasy TCG World Championship will play host to the world’s top 32 players. At the end, only one player will be crowned world champion where they will hopefully be crowned whilst basking in the glory of the Final Fantasy victory music.
The tournament will run for two days on November 23rd and 24th. Should you be a fan and want to watch it Square Enix has you covered as the tournament will be live-streamed over on the Square Enix presents YouTube channel.
Here are the links if you want to watch:
If like me, you haven’t got the first idea about how to play Final Fantasy TCG there is a helpful tutorial available here.
Let us know in the comments if you are an existing player or if you plan to watch the championship. It promises to be a good event for fans as the 32 players have been whittled down from qualifying events from all over the world.
Unfortunately, the event isn’t open to the public so if you want to watch it, the YouTube streams are the only place to do so.
Lastly, let us know who you want to win. I’m rooting for Alexander Hancox. I have no idea who he is, but he’s the 2018 UK champion and is alright in my books.
