What’s new in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker Patch 6.1?
Patch 6.1 will add new quests to the game. The update will introduce new game mechanics as well, such as the Duty Support System. According to today’s press release:
“With this new system, all 4-player main scenario dungeons and trials will be able to be played solo alongside a party of NPCs. Major revisions to Cape Westwind and later duties are also planned to further support an accessible, solo-play experience. The Duty Support System will also be expanded in future updates to support Patch 2.x content, as well as Heavenswardâ„¢ expansion content and beyond.”
Other, smaller changes are coming as well. Patch 6.1 will add a beta version of a new feature called Adventurer Plates. Adventurer Plates will allow Final Fantasy XIVÂ players to customize character portraits in a variety of ways, including lighting and animation.

Players will be able to earn special mounts and gear modelled after the show designed by legendary character designer Keita Amemiya. New jobs introduced in Shadowbringers™ and Endwalker will now be able to equip this collaboration gear.”
A new album and artbook are coming later this year
