Both Hartley Sawyer (Ralph Dibny)Ā and Danielle Nicolet (Cecile Horton) have been upgraded to series regulars for The Flash season five.
Cecile Horton was first introduced on The Flash all the way back in season one as the Central City District Attorney. In season three, she became a more prominent member of the cast and began a romantic relationship with the guy who should win the award for father of the year, Joe West (Jesse L. Martin).
In season four, Cecileās role grew even more as she temporarily gained the ability to read minds due to side-effects of her pregnancy. Her powers seemingly disappearedĀ with the birth of her daughter, Jenna, at the end of the season.
Ralph Dibny was referenced in season one as a deceased victim of the particle accelerator explosion. Apparently, this was undone by the events of Flashpoint at the beginning of the third season. After Flashpoint, Ā we learned that Dibny became a private detective after he was fired from the Central City Police Department due to the efforts of our favorite scarlet speedster.
During the last season, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) took Dibny under his wing after the former detective received powers from an explosion of dark matter. Now calling himself The Elongated Man, Dibny uses his ability to morph and stretch his body to help Barry fight crime.
The past two seasons of The Flash havenāt been as well received by fans as previous years and with Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West) leaving the Arrowverse, this could end up as a make or break season for the hit CW series.
