Currently, one of the biggest movie stars is Florence Pugh, but not everyone has seen her, so she has recommended what movie everyone should see and why. In an interview with Collider, she suggested that people should check out Fighting with My Family as their first film to watch that she stars in.
The film was directed and written by actor Stephen Merchant. The biopic comedy follows the Knight family, who are in the wrestling business. The Black Widow star played the daughter, Saraya Knight, who went on to have a successful career in the WWE. The film also starred Dwayne Johnson, Lena Heady, Nick Frost, and Vince Vaughn.
Why Florence Pugh recommended Fighting with My Family as the movie to see
Florence Pugh has done a lot of genres in her time in the movie business. From horror films like Midsommar to Marvel blockbusters, she has done it all in a short amount of time since she blew up in 2019. A part of her decision was to look for “a good light one” that encompassed being “fun and enjoyable and shows how bizarre” her decisions could be when picking up a project. To her, Fighting with My Family had it all to be the introduction to the star who has shaken Hollywood up as she grabs projects left and right.
Fighting with My Family was a small indie with an $11 million budget. It grossed a modest $41 million worldwide. Critically, it was well-received by audiences and critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, its critics’ score is 93%, with the audience being down at a still solid score of 86%.
The Oscar-nominated star is quite busy at this point in her career. Florence Pugh has movie after movie to shoot or promote as they release like clockwork. She is currently promoting A Good Person, which was directed by ex-boyfriend and Scrubs star Zach Braff. She will star in the anticipated Dune: Part 2 later this year. 2023 will continue to be a massive hit for her as she will also star in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. For 2024 and beyond, she has lined up Thunderbolts, which will mark her third Marvel project since 2021’s Black Widow. She will also star in Alexander Skarsgård’s The Pack, which will star and be directed by The Northman star. She will unite with Andrew Garfield for We Live In Time.
