While fans wait for more news on the upcoming Dragon Age video game, they can read up on their favorite characters in a new comic book. Dark Horse Comics will publish a series following Fenris from Dragon Age II this January. The NPC was one of several love interests the player could romance in the BioWare’s sequel to Dragon Age and his fate could be decided upon by the player during the game.
The in-canon comic, titled Dragon Age: Blue Wraith, will follow the events after the end of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Now, if that seems odd to you that’s okay because Fenris didn’t even show up in the third game. However, if the inquisitor speaks with Varric, they will learn details about Fenris after the conclusion of the second game.
Blue Wraith is being produced by the same team who created other Dragon Age comics including Knight Errant and Mage Killer, with the most recent three-issue series releasing last year called Deception. The comic is being written by the husband and wife team of Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir. The art is being drawn by Fernando Heinz Furukawa with colors from Michael Atiyeh. While each individual cover for the series will be handled by the incredible Sachin Teng.
The story will follow the Qunari looking as they attempt to bring down the Tevinter mages. Along the way, a powerful young mage named Francesca will run into the elven mage hunter Fenris, who is known as the Blue Wraith. Francesca is not a new character either, she was introduced in Deception and confirmed to be in this series by Weir on social media.
It is Francesca! She's got a lot to figure out in this new mini. :)

While it’s been less than a year since fans learned any new information about the Dragon Age universe, it’s always a pleasure to be able to dive back into Thedas whenever we can. Being able to see what other characters have been up to helps expand the lore and builds the world BioWare has released.
The first issue of the three-part series will release on January 15, 2020, and is available for pre-order now.
