From developer Byte Barrel and publisher 1C, Entertainment comes forth Forgive Me Father – a retro FPS inspired by Lovecraftian horror. It’s currently in early access, so you can start playing if Forgive Me Father is something up your dark alley.
The Time Has Come…The End is Near…Forgive Me Father, They’re Almost Here
Forgive Me Father gets down and dirty to the horror action that you can see in the new “The End is Near” trailer. In it, you can play as one of two heroes who are the last sane beings in a world of absolute darkness. The enemies you will face are grotesque and otherworldly, right in the fashion of classic H. P. Lovecraft tales. But the twist here is that you’ve got guns, lots of guns. Throughout the dynamic gameplay that feels eerily similar to retro shooters like DOOM and QUAKE, you’ll be able to upgrade your arsenal as you face off against waves of enemies. The game is also stylized with neo-noir, hand-drawn graphics that blend in with the 2D and 3D environments.
Byte Barrel has been developing the game for a bit now, with continuous feedback being provided by fans of Forgive Me Father during its early access run. Its production process includes new levels, enemies, weapons, skills, and an Endless Mode. Coupled with the various bug fixes to go with it, the time has come for the game to meet its ultimate release. In just a couple of weeks from now, Forgive Me Father will officially exit early access on April 7, 2022. You can purchase it now through Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG, but the price is now set at $19.99. 1C Entertainment is also offering bundles for their other published titles to accompany Byte Barrel’s new game.
