The age of AI slop is here, and it’s just as harmful as it is fascinating. And in the current political climate, fake AI videos aren’t doing anyone any favors. Washington-based former Army sniper and combat veteran, CFH Unfiltered, has shared his negative sentiment about these viral TikTok clips involving “black people trying to abuse EBT.” The left-leaning father claims that the “super-damaging” issue with these videos being shared is that they are fake AI propaganda.
“My entire family was on food stamps!” CFH Unfiltered exclaims, while going on a tirade about how these AI videos and those who share them are playing a part in taking away SNAP benefits from people who need them. He goes on, saying how it’s the “cruelty of billionaires brainwashing us using AI” that has allowed this dystopian nightmare to happen, and people circulating this fake misinformation are enabling it. Not to mention, the oppressive “tyranny” in DC who are leading the charge in ruining the lives of tens of thousands of struggling American families and homes.
The sad reality is, though, it’s not entirely the individual viewer’s fault if they actually believe AI slop to be true. In this day and age of attention-grabbing, short-form entertainment consumption and media corporations allowing harmful content to circulate for ad revenue, people can’t help but be more susceptible. “AI is literally a propagandist’s dream. Fortunately it’ll be so prominent that no one will believe any video they see,” remarks a Reddit user. Another added how “credible video evidence” is now gradually being lumped in with fake information as well.
As one person puts it, “We need to ban AI and bots from social media,” if not, heavily regulate anything that contains AI-generated content, especially when it comes to politics. Needless to say, these fake videos of non-white people making trouble are racially driven hate content to spread misinformation and create more discord.
