One of the new challenges released with the new Jungle Hunter series last week is kind of a peculiar one because it’s not exactly straightforward. This quest, which asks you to deal 100 damage while thermal is active, is unlocked only after you’ve unlocked the Predator skin and completed the quests that come before. This might sound extremely easy but it’s not quite as simple as you might think, which is why this guide will take some time about how to get this done.
How to Deal Damage While Thermal is Active
So, provided you have the Predator skin unlocked and active, there are two parts to this, and the first sounds deceptively easier than the other: the first part to this is finding a Thermal Fish. You’ll find this by fishing it out of the map’s several lakes and while there are specific locations for specifically colored Thermal Fish, you can use any of them to accomplish this task. You’re going to want to go into this with an inventory slot open as when you consume the fish you have a limited time with the Thermal effect active in order to complete the task. As such, you’ll want to be able to hang on to it until you’re sure you’re going to be able to deal the necessary damage.
Other Fortnite Guides
Next up is the really simple part: dealing the necessary damage. The Thermal effect lasts for 60 seconds so it’s best to have yourself prepared as best as you can so you can complete the task. Your best shot is popping the fish when you know you can single out a player and knock them down but some of the best and easiest ways to do this is while you have a sniper rifle available and you can knock some heads that way, as sometimes even a body shot will deal enough damage to knock this task off without any trouble. Of course, there’s nothing keeping you from throwing yourself in the middle of a gunfight, popping the fish, and just gunning as many people down as possible.
