It hasn’t been that long, but ever since Chapter 3: Season 1 of Fortnite launched, it’s brought so much fun. You can swing around with Spider-Man’s webs, look like Spider-Man (even Tom Holland’s one), and embrace Winterfest. There’s a new mechanic too: sliding. Fortnite Chapter 3 players can learn how to slide to change up their combat prowess and techniques.
How to Slide in Fortnite
With a brand new island to explore, the first season of Chapter 3 set out with a bang. There are cool new effects and cosmetics to enjoy such as the sliding mechanism.
Performing a slide in Fortnite can truly change the game. It can help you race down mountainsides quicker, of course. However, it can also help you aim down sights better. This way, you can knock out opponents faster, at different angles, and with more style.
In fact, it’s even one of the numerous challenges available. You have to deal 50 damage while you slide. Whether you want to nail the challenge or just get cooler kills, it’s important to learn how to slide.
Here’s how you can slide on each platform Fortnite Chapter 3 is available on:
- PC: Hit Left Ctrl
- PlayStation: Press the right analog stick
- Xbox: Press the right analog stick
- Nintendo: Press the right analog stick
You have to start running and then press the corresponding button that you use to crouch. The information above is simply the default settings. Of course, this can change if you decide to change your controller or keyboard settings.
Some players might find it awkward, especially those playing on the Switch. Again though: you can set up your controls however you see fit.
Anything that makes it more comfortable is helpful thanks to how useful this new mechanism is.
