Fortune & Glory Continues…
Fortune & Glory is Brian Michael Bendis’ very fictionalized version of his early life and career. As Bendis himself puts it, “It was about my earliest adventures in Hollywood as an independent comics creator.” Now, Bendis is back to continue those tales in Fortune & Glory: The Musical. This time around, the graphic novel finds Bendis in the middle of a career-high. He just finished a “character-defining” run with Ultimate Spider-Man, as well as the Spider-Man films.
Now, a phone call is about to turn the writer’s world upside down. Spider-Man is heading to Broadway, and Bendis is tasked with collaborating with rock royalty to help the Marvel hero find his voice onstage. Can he pull it off?
Per ComicBook.com, Fortune & Glory: The Musical will only be available to subscribers of the Jinxworld newsletter from Bendis. Plus, the original graphic novel is coming back with a new edition from Dark Horse Comics. This comprehensive trade paperback edition gives you the complete story of the original three-issue miniseries. It also features an introduction from comic legend Paul Dini. It is out on April 5.
The Life of Bendis
Bendis has built quite the career in comics. The five-time Eisner Award winner is responsible for some of the biggest comics in the last 20 years. The writer really rose to prominence with Ultimate Spider-Man back in 2000. From there, he spent several years with everyone’s favorite wall-crawler. He is also noted for his work on Marvel’s Daredevil, The Avengers, and X-Men. Meanwhile, the creator is currently working exclusively with DC Comics.
You can catch up with Bendis’ career and how he got to where he is in Fortune & Glory: The Musical posting on his newsletter now,
