Forza Horizon 5 is seeing some great success even before its official release to the public, as nearly one million users before release are playing the game, as all these users have paid for early access to the game and are playing right now, largely due to the positive reviews the game has received in the leadup to release.
This information comes from the in-game Hall of Fame leaderboards, which display the information that some 800,000 players, across both Xbox and PC platforms have been playing the game. This is possible due to the $99 premium version of the game, which grants early access ahead of the official global release of Forza Horizon 5 on November 9.
The standard edition and Game Pass access don’t go live until Forza Horizon 5’s official release date of Tuesday, November 9. Game Pass subscribers can currently purchase the Premium Edition’s add-ons (including early access) for $45. That means the first-party Xbox title has already grossed between $36 million and $79 million before its general release next week, an excellent achievement for the game, and a great sign of things to come for the game.
This news bodes extremely well for the player numbers when Forza Horizon 5 officially launches, as the game is already highly anticipated with nearly 1 million users before release, and the news of these early access numbers is sure to increase the interest in-game for other people. This good news doesn’t stop there, as the game also made it to the top of the rating charts earlier this week, making Forza Horizon 5 the highest-rated game of the year so far.
On Metacritic, meanwhile, the game has an average score of 91 and is the sixth highest-rated game on the site for this year. The PC version of Forza Horizon 5 is also the joint-top reviewed game of the year on Metacritic with an aggregate score of 91.
