Free League Publishing is releasing an expansion for Alien: The Roleplaying Game titled the Destroyer of Worlds on September eighth. The reveal came just a few days ahead of Gen Con 2020.
Destroyer of Worlds is the next cinematic scenario module for the Alien RPG and it’s also releasing alongside a new starter edition as well. The first cinematic module, Chariot of the Gods, released last December and revolved around investigating a distress signal from another ship. A story that was similar to the first Alien movie. Destroyer of Worlds, on the other hand, will feature the colonial marines.
A team of Colonial Marines get dropped onto the moon Ariaricus to handle a growing insurgency, but soon find themselves fighting for their lives against enemies beyond their worst nightmares. Priced at $29.99, the Destroyer of Worlds Cinematic scenario comes in a boxed set, including maps, handouts, and cards for a fully immersive tabletop experience.”
Alien: The Roleplaying Game sold out its first printing and was nominated for an ENnie Award and Origins Award for best RPG of the year.
The mission was a manhunt, the objectives clear—track down four fugitives, recover any assets they may have made off with, and keep ‘em all out of enemy hands. Go find them on a frozen moon full of hostiles and get it done on the eve of war. Nothing you couldn’t handle. But what it is that these bastards stole—and how the hell it got inside them—is another thing altogether.”
The Alien RPG Starter Set, releasing on the same day, includes all the information players will need to run their own game. It is a 104 page softcover book with the core rules, 20 custom dice, reference cards, character handouts, and Chariot of the Gods as well. Both of which are written by Andrew E.C. Gaska.
Free League Publishing is attending Gen Con Online and will be announcing new content for Forbidden Lands, Vaesen, MÖRK BORG RPG, as well as host an actual play for Alien.
