During the Wholesome Direct Showcase, players were given another indie game title to check out with the trailer for Freeride by Flightyfelon Games. The action RPG developed by this indie studio will provide players with a new kind of RPG bringing consequences to the forefront. Freeride is arriving on Steam sometime in the future, but players can sign up to join the playtest now.
While identified as an action RPG, Freeride is a secret personality test. Exploring and playing through Freeride, players are given physics-based telekinesis abilities allowing them to change things around them and leave their mark. But beware, you will be faced with making decisions, and you won’t know when those decisions are made. Unlike many games, Freeride has no good or evil system that will be used to judge your decision-making. Instead, you will be forced to face the consequences of your choices.
An Action RPG That Explores Choice and Consequence
Explore a strange world made up of spirits, each with their own goals and motivations, as a branching narrative will unfold. Using your newfound powers, what will you do? Solve puzzles, battle demons, or help others. The choices will all be left up to you to decide. Beware, although your choices will determine your personality type, which even affects how much of the story is available to you. With multiple endings, Freeride should offer players a fair amount of replayability.
