Announced earlier today, Funimation will partner with Toei Animation to hold a global live stream event for One Piece’s 1000th anime episode. Regarding this celebration, Masayuki Endo, President, and CEO of Toei Animation had this to say about the upcoming special,
The 100th episode of One Piece is truly a history0making moment not only for the franchise, but also for the millions of fans around the world who have supported the seires over the last 22 years. We’re excited to mark this major milestone for One Piece and looko forward to celebrating it together with fans at our special global livestream event.”
“Professional One Piece fan” RobersBase will be hosting the online event. Episodes 998 and 999 of the anime will also be available for free streaming any time before the event. Lastly, the event will also be hosting prize giveaways for lucky fans in the comments.
The 1000th episode of One Piece will debut on November 14. The corresponding manga chapter for this episode was originally published on January 4.
More One Piece 1000 Episode Celebrations
Along with this, Toei Animation and Fathom Events will host a special theatrical screening of the upcoming One Piece Film Strong World anime next month. This is also to celebrate the 1000th episode. The film’s English dub will show in theaters on November 7, and with English subtitles on November 9. Other screenings will include the United States premiere of the One Piece 3D: Mugiwara Chase film.
Also, the longtime running series has inspired the We Are One! short drama videos. These videos are released to celebrate the 1000th volume of the manga and the future 1000th episode. The One Piece mini-series premiered on August 30 and has daily new episodes.
The broadcast will be on November 20 at 3 PM PST. It will be available on Toei Animation’s official Youtube channel, the official One Piece Facebook Page, and Funimation’s official Youtube channel.
