Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti are bringing the G.O.D.S. to Marvel this fall. This revolutionary series redefines the cosmic beings of the Marvel Universe. In doing so, the series is set to introduce a whole new batch of characters to love and hate. These new players play an instrumental role in the forces behind the creation and destruction of reality. While most of the plot for this groundbreaking series is unknown, Marvel is giving fans a glimpse at its new characters with some special August variants.
What We Know So Far
G.O.D.S. is the daring new endeavor from the visionary minds of Hickman and Schiti. The project was first announced back in 2022. Then in March, the series was teased again. A first-look trailer showed off one of the incoming characters, Wyn. This new character’s interactions with Marvel’s resident Sorcerer, Doctor Strange, hint that the series will toy with the ideas of science and magic. Specifically, their roles in the Marvel Universe.
Earlier this month, the Avengers/X-Men #1 Free Comic Book Day issue properly introduced Wyn to fans. Now it is time to meet the rest in these Marvel variant covers. More characters from G.O.D.S. are on the pages of some of Marvel’s fan-favorite series. These new characters are defined as agents of the “Powers That Be” and the “Natural Order of Things.” They are the servants of the building blocks of Marvel’s creations. And they are ready to come out of the shadows to save reality.
Getting To Know The G.O.D.S.
Featured on the variant covers are a few of the characters Hickman and Schiti will introduce in the series. They include Wyn, Aiko Maki, Dmitri the Science Boy, Mia the Magic Girl, Cubisk Core, and more.
These G.O.D.S. variant covers will spread over nine issues this August. Plus, each issue will contain a bonus story page from Hickman. This bonus page will explore how these new characters move throughout the Marvel Universe and interact with known Marvel heroes. If that wasn’t enough to excite you, Marvel revealed that several of the G.O.D.S. characters will be appearing at the upcoming Hellfire Gala in July, just in time for that pesky Fall of X.
