Today, the open world FPS game Generation Zero received its second patch of 2022. Systemic Reaction announced the patch with a new trailer and a post on the game’s website. This update, called the Base Assault Update, adds new content and bug fixes to Generation Zero.
What’s new in the Generation Zero Base Assault Update?
The Base Assault Update adds a lot of new, free content to Generation Zero. Firstly, there’s a new game mode. As you might have guessed, the mode is called Base Assault. According to today’s announcement, Base Assault will challenge players to “attack procedurally generated FNIX bases in the Forest Region!”
“Thanks to the groundbreaking new system that we have developed for this, each playthrough is unique, due to a large number of base layouts and challenges. The difficulty, size, and layout of each base can also evolve, like our Rivals, if players continue to increase the threat level in the region.”
Successfully capturing bases will grant players Command Tokens, which allow players to claim territory for the Resistance.
Base Assault mode isn’t the only addition to Generation Zero. Today’s update also introduced new side missions to the game:
“The Base Assault Update introduces two new side missions linked to the Matryoshka collectibles that we’ve introduced in the Landfall Update. But, there’s a twist; This time we’re seeing it from the eyes of the Resistance. Explore the Marshlands region to find out more!”
Another new addition is the Soviet Buildings Pack, which can be used in Forest region bases and contains new walls, defenses, and a new decorative item.
Last but not least, the Generation Zero Base Assault Update fixes several bugs in the game. Expect fixes to several issues with animations, missions, crashes, and more. There’s far too much to list here, but you can check it out in today’s announcement linked above.
The Base Assault Update is available for free on PC and consoles.
