Rejoice, Genshin Impact fans. Your bank-breaking game keeps getting better all the time. This latest treat comes by way of Kamisato Ayaka, a limited-time character whose arrival on July 21st coincides with the official launch of Genshin Impact 2.0.
Lightning-Swift
First and foremost, it appears that Ayaka is a remarkably fast character. Genshin Impact is hardly a slouch when it comes to speedy picks, but between a substantial move set and the alacrity required to pull it all off with breezy ease, Ayaka is primed to stand out from the pack.
Don’t believe me? Weird, but fine! Check out the trailer for yourself!
An Elegant Ayaka for a More Civilized Genshin Impact 2.0
Yes, I’ve attempted to spoof that one quote. No, I’m not quite sure why.
At any rate! This isn’t the first time we’ve been offered a glimpse at Ayaka. It is, however, the first time we’re truly seeing her in action. Previously, publisher miHoYo released an Ayaka trailer designed to showcase her elegance and fine temperament. It’s a fun watch that helps get us all amped for the Inazuma region and the wider Genshin Impact 2.0 package.
By all means, give this a click, too. You won’t be disappointed!
Frosted Flakes
Ayaka’s formal title is “Frostflake Heron.” A sword-wielder, her primary element is Cryo — the more gameplay-focused of the two trailers paints that readily apparent with the gushes of ice she creates.
If you’re a Fire Emblem: Three Houses fan and Ayaka’s English voice sounds familiar, guess what! Erica Mendez, Ayaka’s voice actress, previously gave life to Bernadetta. As restrained as Ayaka’s life appears to be, I think it’s safe to say her day-to-days are a happier affair than poor Bernie’s.
Gear Up for Genshin Impact 2.0
There’s a ton of new content coming your way when Genshin Impact 2.0 launches tomorrow. More than enough, in fact, for my editor Shawn Robinson to have drummed up an exhaustive page of patch notes that’s well worth your time. To say that “highlights include the new Inazuma region” would be both technically true and woefully underselling things; the Inazuma region makes 2.0.
In addition to the chance to explore a vast new locale, you’ll deal with a new reputation grid, several domains, numerous new gameplay abilities, new monsters, a plethora of quests, and… oh, yeah, an additional batch of characters, including Ayaka. Get ready, Genshin fans!
