Genshin Impact, a free-to-play open-world action RPG, will launch on September 28, 2020, for PlayStation 4, PC, iOS, and Android. A Switch version is also planned but for now, there’s still no announcement about its release window. Although it has a very distinct anime-style visual, the game’s publisher and developer miHoYo (Honkai Impact) is actually based in China. The title instantly went viral when in 2019 in its first gameplay demo, Chinese gamers pointed out that Genshin Impact looks and plays “too similarly” to Breath of the Wild. But since then internet outrage has subsided and people’s reaction to the game has been positive.
Exclusive to PS4 players, you can get extra bonus equipment: Sword of Descension, Wings of Descension wind glider, as well as more items in the future. In Genshin Impact, you play as a mysterious being called the Traveler. Stripped of your powers and helplessly stranded in the land of Teyvat, you have to embark on an epic journey in search of your sibling. But you are not alone. Meet a host of faithful companions and unravel the many mysteries of Tevyat along the way. As well as facing powerful enemies who seek to challenge your quest.
This is definitely one title anime fans — or action RPG fans who don’t have Switch and unable to play Breath of the Wild — can’t miss out on. Or heck, even for you who can’t wait for Breath of the Wild 2. What do you think of Genshin Impact? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below.
