Il Dottore, also known as the “Doctor,” is one of the eleven Fatui Harbingers in Genshin Impact. Fans will recognize this masked character from the game’s manga comics as a Fatui diplomat in Mondstadt. So far, Dottore has only appeared once in the Genshin Impact. During Childe’s Story Quest, “Mighty Cyclops’ Adventure!” the Traveler accompanies Tartaglia and his younger brother, Teucer, to visit the Institute of Toy Research in Liyue. While Il Dottore does not make a physical appearance in this Genshin Impact quest, Childe mentions that the Institute was “one of Dottore’s research facilities,” where he performed experiments on humans. However, the facility has since been long abandoned.

Who Is Il Dottore in Genshin Impact

While it has been some time since Il Dottore has been mentioned, the Fatui Doctor has made another appearance during Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser, “A Winter Night’s Lazzoalongside,” during which he can be seen speaking with his fellow Harbingers. With this cinematic cementing his arrival into the game, players will likely wonder who exactly Il Dottore in Genshin Impact is.

Genshin Impact: Where to Find Specters

Il Dottore is an adult man in Genshin Impact characterized by his red eyes, pale skin, and blue hair. In the teaser trailer, he can be seen wearing a beak-shaped black mask that obscures his eyes. He embraced his title as the “Doctor” in connection to his ultimate goal of creating “enhanced humans.” Accordingly, he runs experiments on test subjects — both dead and living. He went even as far as to kill his own assistant, Krupp, turning the once-living human into an undead machine. Therefore, to answer the question regarding “who is Il Dottore,” he is a ruthless character who sees no value in life and only hopes to excel in his research on making people into weaponized humanoids in Genshin Impact.

Unfortunately, Genshin Impact fans do not have much to go on concerning Dottore’s powers or abilities as a Fatui Harbinger. However, in the manga, the lore presented the Doctor as a mad genius capable of turning living and dead humans into monstrosities. For example, in the Childe’s Story Quest in Genshin Impact mentioned above, Dottore was said to have been turning people into Ruin Guards in the Institute of Toy Research.
