Kusanali Release Date
The Genshin Impact community believes that update 3.0 to be announced on August 22, 2022. Meanwhile, the leaks have mentioned that Genshin Impact 3.0 update banners will feature two 5-star characters and one 4-star character. However, the rumor mill also added that Kusanali’s release might have been postponed, and she won’t even show up until after the 3.1 updates. With that in mind, we might have to wait until Genshin Impact 3.2 for Kusanali.
And keep in mind that the character model that’s currently swirling around on the internet is not the final version. It seems miHoYo will update how Kusanali looks in-game to make her image fit for her Lesser Archon title.
Kusanali’s Weapon in Genshin Impact 3.2
According to several leaks, Kusanali will be a 5-star Dendro Catalyst user. Like Collei and Tighnari, she will be the first three characters that use the Dendro Element, which is going to be heavily featured in Genshin Impact 3.0 and Sumeru region.
Who is Kusanali and Nahida?
Kusanali was first mentioned by her title, the God of Wisdom, by Zhongli when he commented on a kite, he purchased for the Rite of Parting in the “Downtown” Quest of “Farewell, Archaic Lord” Archon Quest Chapter I: Act II Questline. The God of Wisdom herself is a Dendro Archon and presides over Sumeru. The Sumeru population worships her as Lesser Lord Kusanali, and each year they hold the Sabzeruz Festival to commemorate the birth of Kusanali.
According to Ganyu, in the “Solitary Fragrance” Quest of “A New Star Approaches” Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III Questline, Kusanali is supposed to be the youngest of the current Seven Archons at 5,000 years old. While currently little is known about her, several in-game characters criticize Kusanali for her inaction as an Archon. It might’ve pushed Sumeru to treat knowledge as an invaluable resource zealously.
Interestingly, leaker BLANK wrote that the Dendro Archon’s real name is Nahida. This could mean that similar to other Genshin Impact characters — such as Rex Lapis and Morax for Zhongli as well as Raiden Shogun and Beelzebub for Raiden Ei — Kusanali could be just another title for Nahida.
Another well-known leaker, Ubatcha, said that Kusanali might be a hikikomori-type character — a Japanese term for someone who barely goes outside their dwellings. BLANK added that miHoYo might use a “bait” to make players pull for Kusanali. In the Reddit thread, people assumed this means there’s a tragic story behind Kusanali’s vessel, Sumeru’s treatment of knowledge, and why she’s called as God of Wisdom, and in the end, her story might lead to something akin to Enkanomiya’s Sunchildren.
Kusanali and Nahida Voice Actor and Trivias in Genshin Impact
A Genshin Impact leaker known as Plusle revealed that Kusanali or Nahida is going to be voiced by Yukari Tamura. She is a prolific voice actress that has voiced various anime and game characters, including but not limited to:
- Tenten (Naruto).
- Suzuha Amane (Steins;Gate).
- Qiqi (Genshin Impact).
- Theresa Apocalypse (Honkai Impact 3rd).
- M4 SOPMOD II (Girls’ Frontline).
Meanwhile, based on the teaser voice lines at the end of Summertime Oddysey, on Reddit, people suspect the English version of Kusanali might be voiced by either Kimberley Anne Campbell (Hayase Nagatoro, Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro) or Lily Pichu (Sayu, Genshin Impact).
In Zoroastrianism, Nahid or Nahida seems to be one of the names used for Anahita, goddess of wisdom and fertility. In Middle Eastern cultures, dreams also seem to be heavily correlated with knowledge.
