Genshin Impact’s Windblume festival has introduced a bunch of new events to the game, including the Hangout event where players can interact with 4 of the playable characters and unravel their stories. It is a role-playing event where your choices will determine the outcome of the story. This being said, there are rewards for completion, and here is a guide explaining the entire Hangout event.

How To Complete Hangout Events
As mentioned before, there are 4 characters that players can choose from to interact with. These characters are Barbara, Noelle, Chongyun, and Bennet. Interestingly all these characters are 4-star, and the event mainly serves the purpose of delivering a definitive backstory to these characters, similar to what side quests do for 5-star characters.
To participate in the Hangout events, players need a minimum Adventure Rank of 26. To access the hangout event, simply head over to the event page by clicking on the compass icon on the top of the screen.
Unlocking every character’s storyline from the Hangout event can be a bit tedious as each character require two Story Keys. Each time you clear 8 daily quests, you will be rewarded with a Story Key, so it might take a while before you unlock every character’s story from the Hangout event. Once you have acquired the required number of Story Keys, simply select a character and hop on their storyline. You will be given a bunch of options, and your choices will decide how the storyline progresses.
Depending upon the choices you make, you’ll get the respective ending or no ending in some cases. You can also redo a storyline with different choices, which won’t take any additional Story Keys. Each time you finish a storyline, you will be rewarded with a Hangout snapshot. Players can keep track of their progress in the storyline of each character by using the “Check Plan” option in the quest menu.
miHoYo has confirmed that more characters will be added to the Hangout event in the future. Even though Hangout events were added along with the Windblume festival, it is here to stay and won’t be removed when the festival ends.
