Genshin Impact Guide – Lantern Rite Festival

In celebration of the Chinese new year, miHoYo has added a “Lantern Rite Festival” in Genshin Impact. The event has rolled in along with patch 1.3, bringing a bunch of new updates to the game. New quests have been introduced with plenty of rewards to be earned. There are multiple quests in the event, and players will have until the end of February to complete them all.

What is the Lantern Rite Festival?

The Lantern Rite festival features a short story quest revolving around Xiao is playable now and clearing it will net exciting rewards. There are three chapters to the story quest with separate rewards at each stage.

To start the quest, players need to clear Xiao’s story missions. After doing so, “Origin of Lanterns” will unlock, which is the introductory quest of the event. The first objective is to simply raise the “Festive Fever” gauge meter by completing world quests. This should also unlock the first set of rewards in the Xiao Market. The second chapter of the quest, which has been available since February 14, has the same requirements as the prior one. Complete world quests to raise the gauge level and earn rewards. Finish the “Guests Flock From Afar” and “Currents Deep Beneath the Lanterns” to earn more rewards.

The recent chapter, which began on February 18, is the last one of the event. By now, players should have completed the “Light Upon the Sea” quest and technically reached the “Glow of a Thousand Lanterns” level. After that, complete the new requests to get your hands on the final tier of rewards.

Some of the high-value rewards include Crown of Insight and Dust of Azoth. Player’s can also earn Ascension material, Hero’s Wit, and tons of Mora. This is a great event for players looking to hoard important resources. Apart from the Lantern Rite Tales, a new “Theater Mechanicus” minigame has also been added where players will go against different enemies to protect a nexus.
