Specters are hostile elemental mobs in Genshin Impact that inhabit the islands of Inazuma. These small, floating creatures come in six elements, including Ameno, Cryo, Electro, Geo, Hydro, and Pyro. Similar to Slimes, Specters are immune to attacks using their same elemental type. Upon death, Specters in Genshin Impact have a chance to drop a Spectral Husk, Spectral Heart, or Spectral Nucleus, depending on the World Level. These three serve as Ascension Materials for Shinobu, Gorou, Kokomi, and Aloy. Accordingly, knowing where to find the locations of Specter habitats in Genshin Impact is important knowledge.
Finding Specters in Genshin Impact
One of the objectives of the “Core of the Apparatus” Event in Genshin Impact is “Core Activation,” which requires Travelers to “Collect 4 portions of Core Propulsion by defeating 2 Specters.” Specters in Genshin Impact can be found in multiple locations on Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island.

While it would not be practical to name every single location where Specters can be found in Genshin Impact, below is a short list of easily accessible spots for farming this mob type:
- Watatsumi Island: slightly southeast of the Waypoint located north of Sangonomyia Shrine
- Watatsumi Island: south of the Waypoint on the southeastern side of the main circular island
- Seirai Island: along the beach north of the northern Waypoint near Fort Hiraumi
- Seirai Island: within the ravine trail slightly southwest of the northern Waypoint near Fort Hiraumi
- Seirai Island: slightly northeast of the southern Waypoint near Fort Hiraumi
- Seirai Island: along the beach near the Waypoint west of Amakumo Peak
Once Travelers have found defeated two Specters, they will receive the final task requiring them to “Collect 4 portions of Core Propulsion by defeating 1 Hypostasis.” Elemental Hypostases are the cube-shaped bosses found across Teyvat that most Genshin Impact fans should already be familiar with. Once this event objective has been completed, players will be rewarded with 60 Primogems, 30,000 Mora, and 3 Masks of the Tiger’s Bite. The Mask of the Tiger’s Bite is a Weapon Ascension Material used for upgrading weapons like Engulfing Lightning, Kagura’s Verity, Polar Star, “The Catch,” Kitain Cross Spear, and Wavebreaker’s Fin.
While the event challenge only requires players to slay two Specters, the best locations for Specter farming in Genshin Impact are areas surrounding Amakumo Peak of Seirai Island. Travelers can find several dozen Specters, which can amount to a potential abundance of Spectral Husks, Spectral Hearts, and Spectral Nuclei.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
