We are saddened to report some late-breaking news as we have lost a beloved voice of the gaming community. That voice belonged to Geoff Robinson, perhaps better known as “iNcontroL” of Twitch fame. The gaming personality has passed away suddenly at the age of 33-years old on this past Saturday night. At this time, no cause of death has been revealed. What we have for confirmation is a series of posts from Robinson’s official social media accounts stating that Robinson has passed away suddenly from a “sudden illness.” Again, it was never specified exactly what that illness maybe, but out of respect for his friends and family at this time, it’s not worth pushing the issue.
With immense grief, we announce Geoff’s unexpected passing due to sudden illness Saturday. We ask privacy as his family works to understand what happened and make arrangements. To honor Geoff or offer comfort to his family, we suggest donations to @SoCalBulldog, which he loved.

The initial announcement on Robinson’s Twitter account can be seen above. In a follow-up tweet that is also included in Robinson’s other accounts, the following statement was made:
“Geoff is deeply loved across many communities and we’re all working to make sure his affairs are in order as he’d want. BARRISTAN is safe in the care of friends, and family will share words of remembrance when they are ready. Let’s live today in his example of love and laughter.”
Among many things, Geoff Robinson was a professional StarCraft 2 player as he was the captain of the inaugural Evil Geniuses StarCraft pro-gaming team. In addition, he focused much of his efforts within the gaming community as an esports commentator, a media coach, and a frequent Twitch streamer. The San Francisco resident was also a competitive Warhammer 40k player, as well as the host and creator of the Twitch exclusive gaming series called Fanboys.
He was strongly supported and beloved by his fans within the gaming community. On behalf of the gaming community, we send our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to Robinson’s friends and family at this difficult time.
We also – per the aforementioned statement’s request – encourage our readers to donate to the Southern California Bulldog Rescue organization, which Robinson himself often supported.
