Cory Barlog, creative director of Sony Santa Monica, made a new statement about the release of God of War Ragnarok. A statement Cory Barlog made on his Twitter account asked fans who want to learn more about God of War Ragnarok “to be more patient.” The creative director had previously made a similar request in April.

Santa Monica director Barlog stated that the choice to show or discuss Ragnarok further was not up to him. “If it were up to me, I would share all the information when I know about it. But it is not up to me,” he added. “So please, be patient. I promise things will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be.”
God of War Ragnarok was supposed to be released in 2021 on the PS5 and PS4; however, it has been pushed back to 2022 with no specific release date. There have been rumors that the game will not be available until 2023. However, Bloomberg has denied this. It was previously rumored that God of War Ragnarok was delayed to 2023, although journalist Jason Schreier revealed that the title was planned for November 2022.Â
Here is the complete statement made by Sony Santa Monica creative director Cory Barlog:
Dear all, if it were up to me I would share all the information when I know about it. But it is not up to me. So please, be patient. I promise things will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be. We make games for you. We get to make games because of you.
Some rumors persist that Ragnarok may be delayed until 2023, although the game’s animation director stated earlier this year that Ragnarok will still be released in 2022. Before today’s remarks, Barlog updated Ragnarok earlier this year, stating that everyone on the team is “heads-down, hard at work” on the project.
