The time has come for the fearless Valorians to take up arms once more and enter the immense Fire Realm to eradicate new menaces that inhabit the scorching, dark dominion. Scale towering obsidian peaks, cross molten magma rivers, and battle vicious adversaries to obtain brand new legendary skins and mythical Valorplate armor sets. On August 10, this Godfall DLC is looking to rekindle the ardor of warriors Knights old and new, to take on the upcoming expansion Fire and Darkness.
Although its presentation was thrilling and captivating at birth, this exquisite looter-slasher, melee action-RPG title was met with a moderate amount of discontent due to the lack of content and variety in its gameplay loop. What Godfall had in gorgeous visuals and intense combat lacked in keeping its players engaged for the long-term. However, this dilemma is beginning to shift for the better, with the Primal Update earlier this year fairing modestly positive feedback from the community. Soon, the Fire and Darkness expansion pack will bring an entire new realm for players to explore.Â
Godfall’s upcoming content in August also features endgame matchmaking and an all-new Lightbringer Mode in which players must race against the darkness and shut three Tears, facing swarms of challenging enemies in a massive final battle. There are also cursed items that players can earn, which provide significant buffs, but only if the curse is lifted, unlocking the items’ full power.Â
In addition, this update is bringing Godfall to PlayStation 4 users. The game was initially only available on PlayStation 5 (and Epic Games Store), but now PS4 players can experience what it’s like to enter Kosmera and fight as a mighty Valorian Knight. Crossplay between PS4 and PS5 is expected to be possible as well.Â
What are your thoughts on the upcoming DLC for Godfall? If you played Godfall before, will Fire and Darkness or the Lightbringer update be sufficient to bring you back to the game? Feel free to share your impressions in the comments below!
