Highwire Games has revealed that its PSVR exclusive title Golem has been delayed until an undisclosed future date. Announced in 2015 at Sony’s PlayStation Experience, the game was originally scheduled to release next week, March 13th, 2018.
In a post on their official website, Highwire elaborated on the delay.
We have some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is… we’re going to delay Golem a bit longer. There’s no single reason for the delay, just a few small things that taken together make it the right thing for the game and for Highwire. We want to release a polished VR experience that we are proud of — there’s still some tuning and optimization to be done — and we’re too old for another insane death-crunch.
The good news is… we’re going to delay Golem a bit longer. The game is still coming out soon and we don’t expect the delay to be very long. In the meantime, go listen to Marty’s fantastic prequel album “Echoes of the First Dreamer” or play through Moss again. We’ll let you know when we have a new date.
Golem puts players in the shoes of an adventurous kid who has been seriously injured. You are stuck at home in your bed, dreaming of exploring the outside world.
As time goes on, the child begins to develop the power to create and control stone creatures known as golems. Start out being able to build small doll-sized golems that are limited to your room. Once you powers expand, you’ll be able to send enormous 15-foot tall giants to explore an ancient abandoned city.
Golem is one of the many indie games we at The Nerd Stash are highly anticipating from this year and beyond. Be sure to check out Part 1 of our list of 44 indie games that are currently in development while you wait for more news on Golem.
