According to a picture posted by Nerdist, Good Omens season 2 has started filming. News broke last year that Good Omens would return to Amazon Prime for a second season. Good Omens originally aired last year and is based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s joint novel. The book came out in 1990 and has a lengthier name of Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. As the title of the book makes clear, the book was a humorous collaboration between the two writers. The story revolves around an angel Aziraphale and a demon Crowley’s attempt to stop the coming of the Antichrist. At odds with each other, they come to grow close as they follow witch Agnes Nutter’s prophecy.
The first season of Good Omens covered the scope of the book. There is no definitive information on what Good Omens season 2 will entail, but there is no doubt that the actors will bring back the magic of season one. Twitter has been passing around photos of Michael Sheen and David Tennant as their respective characters. Both pictures show Aziraphale and Crowley’s iconic hair.
Neil Gaiman On Netflix
Neil Gaiman has been prolific when it comes to his work on screen. He has created many works that have been adapted. More recently his characters have been co-opted for Netflix. He created the character Lucifer who can be seen on the Netflix show of the same name. Netflix’s Lucifer is not completely accurate to the character that began in The Sandman.
Tom Ellis portrayed a pithy devil who is on vacation from hell. The show functions as a crime procedural while incorporating myth and lore. Now Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is getting a true adaptation for Netflix. Gwendoline Christie will be playing the new show’s version of Lucifer which seems closer to the subject material. There is no official word on when Good Omens Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime. But fans can look forward to David Tennant and Michael Sheen returning on Amazon Prime.
