According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gotham Knights has received a pilot order. This series is one of several pending projects with a pilot order. The series was first announced in December 2021. This pilot order comes from WarnerMedia and Viacom CBS, who both share The CW.
Chad Fiveash, James Stoterauz, and Natalie Abrams (Batwoman) will write the series. Warner Brothers TV and Berlanti Productions are producing. Stoterauz and Fiveash will serve as executive producers, while Abrams is a co-executive producer. Danny Cannon will direct and executive produce the pilot. As of now, no casting details have been announced for the pilot. It is also unclear which son of Batman will be the start of the Gotham Knights series. The description of the series follows Batman’s “adoptive rebellious son” after his death. The description of the series is as follows;
Batman’s son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are framed for the killing of the caped crusade. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous its ever been. And as the city’s most wanted criminal, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. Gotham Knights: No Relation
If greenlit, Gotham Knights will be the second series by CW to take place in Gotham City. The series is not a spinoff of their first Gotham-centered show Batwoman or Gotham’s other DC series. It will also not be related to the upcoming Gotham Knights video game from Warner Brothers Games Montreal or the upcoming The Batman film. Gotham Knights are based on the characters created for DC by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.
