The Pokemon Company has officially revealed the newest Pokemon, Grafaiai, for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet . This newly discovered Poison/Normal Pokemon is found in the Paldea region and is known as the Toxic Monkey Pokemon.
What to Know About Grafaiai, The Toxic Monkey Pokemon!
The trailer for Grafaiai was sequenced like a documentary, and another trailer released soon after gave a better look at the Pokemon in-game. According to the Pokemon’s official description:
Grafaiai is a moody Pokémon with a fastidious disposition. It doesn’t form packs, preferring to roam alone, and it is constantly caught up in territorial struggles with other Pokémon. Grafaiai specializes in using its poisonous saliva—which changes color depending on what the Pokémon eats—to attack foes by spitting at them or by slashing at them after coating its claws with the saliva.
Grafaiai is nocturnal and once the sun sets it licks its hands and fingers to cover them in poison and uses them to draw patterns on the trees in its territory. The poisonous saliva it uses to paint paralyzes Bug Pokémon, which are drawn to the saliva’s sweet, fragrant scent.
As seen in the video, Grafaiai appears to use scented paint to lure other Pokemon into traps, and the colour of the paint it uses depends on what berries it’s eaten. It paints with its long, spindly fingers, and can also spray “paint” out of its mouth to startle and potentially poison foes.
It is Poison/Normal type, 2’4″ feet (0.7 m), 60 lbs. (27.2 kg), and will the abilities Unburden and Poison Touch.
Grafaiai is the 13th newly discovered Pokemon to be revealed for the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet games, which so far include the starters, the Legendaries, the Normal/Dragon type Cylizar and several common Pokémon found throughout the Paldea region, such as the Paldean Regional form of Wooper.
Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022,
