You read the title correctly. Greg Miller, the face of gaming outlet Kinda Funny, has co-written a DC comic! GameOverGreggy has teamed up with The Rogue One, Gary Whitta (check out Whitta’s Animal Talking), to co-author a portion of the upcoming Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular.
Truly a dream come true for the gaming icon. Miller has been a vocal, and self-labeled, DC fanboy throughout his professional career. His loyalty to DC during the MCU’s reign has paid off tenfold. There is no villain more iconic than The Joker, and Miller is now a part of The Clown Prince of Crime’s epic history.
All In The Name Of The Joker
The Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular is exactly as the name suggests, a celebration of The Joker after 80 phenomenal years. The tribute to The Clown Prince is set to release on June 9. A collection of stories will feature in the edition, with several of the most talented names in comics contributing to the celebration.
Names like the aforementioned Greg Miller and Gary Whitta, are impressive. But, others like James Tynion IV and Scott Snyder are sure to fire up DC and Batman fans.
80 Years Of Chaotic Greatness
Joker debuted way back in the very first Batman comic; April 25, 1940. Since then, wars have come and gone. We’ve seen landlines turn into iPhones and have quadrupled the world’s population. Our grandparents grew up, had kids, and their kids had us. A lot of things have changed, but The Joker and his, sometimes calculated – sometimes spontaneous, mayhem has persevered through the generations.
Miller and Whitta have co-written “Kill The Batman.” Their story paints a narrative where The Joker has finally achieved his dream of killing the Bat. But the euphoria isn’t what he expects. The Joker needs one final hurrah, “he needs an encore.” Joker’s plan is unclear, but I’m here for it.
The Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular is set for a June 9 release. The comic will be priced at $9.99 and can be found at www.dccomics.com/comicshoptracker.
