Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released on PC to a slew of mixed reviews due to technical issues and odd artistic choices. To make up for the poor quality of the GTA Trilogy, Rockstar is offering players a game for free.
Players who already own the GTA Trilogy on PC can claim one of the following games for free:
- Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition
- Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
- Max Payne 3
- LA Noire
- Bully: Scholarship Edition
To claim their free game, players must visit Rockstar’s game launcher here, and they have until January 5th, 2022, to do so. According to a report from Eurogamer, “If none of those games are to your liking, you also have the option to claim a Grand Theft Auto Online Great White Shark card, or 55 gold bars in Red Dead Online.”
The collection saw that the original GTA games got a bit of a facelift:
Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, with high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail.”
Rockstar Games have been on top of fan’s complaints since its release in early November. They have since delayed the physical release for the GTA trilogy and relisted the original versions of the games after they were taken down from the store. These were also gifted to players as an apology.
