There are a total of 126 Collectibles in the new Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game. These collectibles are broken down into three types: Compendium Archives/Items, Guardian Collectibles, and Outfits. Over a hundred different collectibles may look like a daunting task, but I am here to help, with this guide being the third entry in a series covering all the collectibles in the new adventure game. Here, we will cover Chapter 3. This guide will show you where to find the collectibles locations in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Chapter 3: “The Cost of Freedom.”
All Chapter 3 Collectibles Locations in Guardians of the Galaxy
For Chapter 3 of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, there are a total of nine collectibles that need to be collected. The breakdown for this chapter is three Compendium Items, three Archives, one Guardian Collectible, and two Outfits. It is important to note that any collectible that is related to the Compendium is missable since your progress is reset upon returning to a chapter via Chapter Select. Make sure that you go through the whole game and get each item or create a new save at the start of every chapter in case you miss any of them. With that out of the way, let’s begin the guide for all collectibles locations in Chapter 3 of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
To start off, there are a number of items that you will collect in this chapter that are dependent on collecting them in previous chapters. These items are the Ravager Comm Bracelet, Spinal Control Unit, and Broken Translation Device. Links to the guides for the previous levels can be found at the bottom of this article.
Ravager Comm Bracelet (Item)
To get this item you first need to have collected the Ravager Comm Bracelet back in Chapter 1. If you have already gotten the item, then when you get control of Star-Lord after returning to the Milano, go to Quill’s room and interact with the item. Once the interaction is done, the Bracelet will be added to your item collection.
Spinal Control Unit (Item)
Just like the previous item, you will need to have collected the Unit back in Chapter 1. If you have, head over to Rocket’s room and interact with the Unit. This will start a conversation with Rocket. Once the interaction is done, the Unit will be added to your item collection.
Broken Translation Device (Item)
For this collectible, you will need to have collected the Device in Chapter 2. You can find the Device down in the Cargo bay where you need to go to start the next mission. When you reach the bottom of the ramp, turn left, it is sitting on a box next to a plant. This will start a conversation with Groot. Once the interaction is done, the Unit will be added to your item collection.

Collateral Damage (Archive)
While making their way to Lady Hellbender, the Guardians partake in their favorite pastime: falling down holes. After fighting some creatures, continue down the path into the jungle. Drax will need to pull out a reactor for you to climb onto and Rocket will need to drop a platform. Once on top of the resistance shop go to the right and you will find the Archive entry.
Gamora: Guardians of the Galaxy 2014 (Outfit)
Continue off the ship and into the jungle where you are able to talk to Gamora about a monster coming through the area. You will see a big red plant in front of her. Walk up to it and instead of passing under it, go to the right past Rocket. Follow the path until you find a little blue archway you can crouch under. This will lead to a large cave. Go to the opposite wall from the entrance and you will find a pile of red resin. Destroy it with Quill’s rapid reload. Enter the new room and you will fight a pair of enemies. Upon defeating them, make your way deeper into the cave, jump, and squeeze through the areas until you find the pink box with the collectible inside.
Chitauri Sear-Cuffs (Guardian Collectible)
The next collectible is a good distance away, so keep making your way through the level. You will know you reach the area that the collectible is in after you and the team shimmy across a ravine and Gamora saves Quill from the ever-present threat of falling down into a hole. You will find yourself under a wing of a destroyed ship. This is the area where you battle the monster that runs away after removing its tail. If you look at the wing you are under, you will see a reactor that you move with Drax. To get it down, have Gamora help you up to a ledge above the Craggy Wall. Once up there, shoot the white gunk that is holding up the reactor. Once you have it down, have Drax carry it over to a cliff on the opposite of the area. Climb up onto the cliff and you will see another landing far beneath you to the right. Jump down there and use your rocket boots to break your fall. You will find the collectible here.
Off the Grid (Archive)
Have Drax move the reactor over to the back of the ship and have Gamora cut the wires that are above it. This will drop the wing and allow you to progress. While heading up the wing go back to where the wires were and you will find the Archive collectible.
Stupid Job (Archive)
Continue past the cutscene where Quill unlocks Element Shots and the combat encounter that follows it. Use the new ice effect to help Rocket and Drax create a path up the cliffside. Once at the top, you will run into some wires that Gamora will need to cut. The Archive collectible is found right on the other side of the wires.
Groot: Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Outfit)
Progress through the rest of the level until you reach a cliffside with steam blocking the path to your right. It will be a cliffside that you needed Groot to make a bridge to reach. Instead of going right, go left into a cave with more steam. Shoot the steam with the ice weapon and just the frozen block to get across the hole. On the other side, you will find the collectible outfit.
