The Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game is right around the corner, and with an impending release comes the specs required for the game, and the storage space required has made many worry. Over 150GB SSD space is apparently required to download Guardians of the Galaxy, a massive size in a time where many games are already taking up large amounts of SSD space.
On a standard HDD, this isn’t too much of an issue, but for those rocking much faster SSDs, 150GB is a lot of space for one game. PC players will obviously prefer playing the game with an SSD as it will result in quicker load times all around, but many feel as though they may need to put it on an HDD due to the size of the game, and some people may be put off altogether at the idea of this issue.
An important detail to remember with this situation is that this is only the size required for the PC version, and the console versions have yet to be specified. The PS5 only has 825GB of space, and a game of 150GB will take up a serious chunk of that limited space, so we will have to wait to see the Guardians of the Galaxy file size for consoles, and hopefully, it is much less than the PC requirement, or external drives may be needed for many.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (in its colossal file size and all) releases on October 26 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. If you missed it, check out our article discussing the launch trailer for the game here.
