How to Beat Fing Fang Foom in Guardians of the Galaxy
Fing Fang Foom will be invulnerable for the first part of the Guardians of the Galaxy boss fight until the player gets rid of the dragon’s ice-plated armor. Afterward, players need to focus on dodging all attacks until Fing Fang Foom blasts giant icicles from the sky. During this attack is when players can cause the dragon to become vulnerable.

Equipping plasma blast, fire at Fing Fang Foom’s ice plates on his paws, chest, and head repeatedly until the armor melts away. Fing Fang Foom will occasionally slam down on the ice with his claws and become stuck, making him vulnerable to player attacks. However, the best time to chip away at Fing Fang Foom’s HP is when he does his bombarding attack. As huge icicles will fall from above, players need to constantly be moving out, watching the ground for indicators showing where to dodge.
One of the ice spikes that fall down will be much larger than the others. Groot and Drax will use this icicle, hurling it as a projectile at Fing Fang Foom. At this time, players need to be on the lookout for a circle indicator that appears when Drax is ready for the attack. Once the spike hits the dragon, he will turn red and collapse on the icy floor, giving players an opportunity to deal massive damage.
Throw everything the Guardians of the Galaxy gang has at Fing Fang Foom during his time of vulnerability. Using Groot’s Entangle ability will keep the beast stunned for longer. Try using Huddle during this time as well to reset cooldowns and receive a damage boost for the party. After the monster gets up, keep poking him until he does his icicle bombardment again and repeat the attacking process until the boss is defeated.
