We have just been blessed with three new gameplay videos of the upcoming fighting game Guilty Gear: Strive! Recently, Arc System Works, the developers of BlazBlue and previous Guilty Gear games, revealed three new videos featuring Sol Badguy, Nagoriyuki, Ky Kiske, Giovanna, Axl Low, and Ramlethal.
Guilty Gear: Strive Gameplay – New Skills
In the videos, they also showcased new skills for three characters (via Gematsu).
Sol Badguy – “Heavy Mob Cemetery”
“Heavy Mob Cemetery” is an invincible rush attack with a long reach. During the skill, Sol transforms into an intimidating creature. “Heavy Mob Cemetery” can easily be activated between your opponent’s attacks. Of course, the skill features Guilty Gear’s awesome animations.
Ky Kiske – “Dragon Install”
“Dragon Install” transforms Ky into a monstrous figure and buffs a few of his specials. When activated, it releases a shockwave that blows back the opponent. If you hit them near the edge of the screen, you can trigger a wall break, moving the battle to a new area. Once again, Guilty Gear animation is on point.
A new addition in Guilty Gear: Strive’s gameplay mechanics is the ability to wall break, which will then award the offensive player increased damage stats temporarily.
Axl Low – “One Vision”
“One Vision” stops the opponent temporarily. This attack stops the opponent when the command is input a second time via a prepared motion. The stop attack can even be activated in mid-air and derive from any skill, including specials.
Guilty Gear: Strive is set to release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on April 9. There will be different editions available for both PlayStation consoles. An open beta will be held from February 18 to 21.
Guilty Gear is known for its beautiful anime-inspired graphics and rocking soundtrack. It is a popular title in the fighting game community. In the past, fighting game legend, Daigo Umehara played the Guilty Gear series competitively. Arc System Works is known for its 2D arcade-style fighting games. They have been involved in franchises such as BlazBlue, Dragonball, and Persona.
