Hades is a pretty good game, we can all agree on that, right? Well, PlayStation players might have something to say about that since they’ve not had the chance to play it. That could be changing in the near future though, as eagle-eyed users on ResetEra spotted a listing for Hades on the Korean Game Rating & Administration Committee, which could signify a Hades PlayStation version coming soon.
Hades is an action dungeon-crawler that has been one of the major hits of 2020, with some amazing art to complement gameplay that is a joy to play. Following on from Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre, it’s another reason why Supergiant Games has become one of the indie studios to look out for. Personally, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them get acquired by a big publisher – Xbox seems to be a likely fit.
It recently bossed the 2021 BAFTA Awards, including picking up the Best Game award. In our review, we said that: “Certainly there was also the pressing need to keep going so I could get closer and closer to the end. But even when I had to backtrack after a death, it didn’t get boring. I still loved looking at everything and anything.” Hopefully, that Korean listing holds weight.
It’s important to mention whenever rumors like this Korean listing come out that this could just be snatching at thin air. It makes sense for Hades to eventually make its way to PlayStation and Xbox platforms after launching on Nintendo Switch last year with the PC version. Hades first came into existence via an early access version in 2018, before fully releasing two years later. It’s done alright since it’s come out, featuring in numerous game of the year award lists (including our own), and winning the Best Indie Game award at the 2020 Game Awards, while also being nominated for the overall Game of the Year award for that same show.
