Double the Spartans, double the fun…
The Halo 5 teaser site has released new content for info-hungry fans. The excitement began with a teaser trailer that was leaked, pulled and then officially released;
Along with this trailer, Halo 5 fans were also given the hashtag #HunttheTruth and a countdown to Sunday night/Monday morning (depending on where you live).
This stirred up more than a little excitement up and down the net; 343 Industries has been less than forthcoming with their second entry into Microsoft’s now legendary FPS series. This is understandable really; while Halo 4 was well recieved, Bungie’s legacy is still a big one to live up to. No one can blame them for being careful with the build up towards Halo 5.
So a trailer showing Master Chief’s helmet getting blown to pieces? That shed a bit of light on the nature of the relationship between the chief and his new co-protagonist; the mysterious Agent Locke.
But what of the countdown? What did we get when the counter hit zero?
The first part of an in-universe interview with a war photographer who had been working on an in-depth profile of Master Chief. The trailer and this interview seem to be suggesting that Halo 5 will be going the Mass Effect 2 route of having the hero mistrusted by the general public. Or are they going in a different direction with this? Could Master Chief genuinely be up to something that isn’t above board?
