Veteran players of the Halo franchise know all about Skulls. These have different effects on your gameplay. While they’re not essential, they sure are fun. With Halo Infinite, finding all the skull locations is a trying task because they’re not all obvious. If you want to claim that Catacomb Achievement, then follow our guide to track down all 12 Skulls.
All Skull Locations in Halo Infinite
There is plenty of fun found in this game. Those with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription can even enjoy monthly bonuses (PC subscribers may need a bit of help). But everyone can reap the benefits of Skulls.
Before you try finding all the skull locations in Halo Infinite, you should know that some are missable. Five of these Skulls are within campaign missions, and you can’t go back if you miss them. You’ll have to restart your entire campaign. Kind of sucks if you’ve gone through a good deal of the game already.
So, our guide is here to be your lifeline.
Missable Skull Locations
There are five skulls that you can miss if you aren’t careful:
1. Boom Skull
Location: Warship Gbraakon || Effect: Explosion radius doubles
Prior to getting to the bridge, you’ll notice a long hallway. To the right are two floors and three cargo lifts. Take the center lift up to a jammed container to get to the Skull.
2. Cowbell Skull
Location: The Foundation || Effect: Acceleration increases from explosions
Once you get the Weapon, go to the room that has the ghosts. Keep moving until you see a window that shows off the complex. On your left, you’ll want to go to the first pillar. With your grappling hook, climb it. This should help you get closer to the Skull that’s on another pillar. Have some patience with this one as it can take some time to get it right.
3. Mythic Skull
Location: The Command Spire || Effect: Enemy-dropped weapons will only have half the ammo
You’ll notice a spacious chamber where there are columns that form out of portals. At the far end, one of these objects will turn right. With the grappling hook, latch onto one before it turns. From there, grapple to the ledge above you. Once up, keep moving until you see a small balcony with a forerunner door. Through the hallway will be the Skull.
4. Grunt Birthday Party Skull
Location: Repository || Effect: Grunt headshots will be explosions
There are some steps to take with this one:
- Once you use the terminal with your AI companion after crossing the light bridge, there’s a door directly to your right. Grapple across, and you’ll find a Power Seed.
- Go to the door directly opposite of the door you went into to find the Power Seed. Throw the Power Seed across and then grapple over the gaps. This will take two throws. Once reaching the door, head through it until you find the place to install the Power Seed.
- From here, continue with the mission. Weapon should point out that there’s an auditorium.
- At the top of the room is an opening the power cell unlocked. Grapple up and fight off the invisible Elites guarding the Skull.
5. Bandana Skull
Location: The Silent Auditorium || Effect: Unlimited weapon ammo and grenades and no equipment cooldown
Play through this mission, but once the Sentinels appear, don’t kill any of them. This is important. Just keep going and you’ll reach a light bridge. But don’t turn left. Just go straight and there will be a door you can enter to get a Skull. If you killed Sentinels, you’ll be locked out of this.
Open-World Skulls
Finding all the open-world Skull locations is simpler in Halo Infinite once you’ve nearly completed the campaign. You can fully explore, and you’ll have upgraded your equipment enough to have an easier time with this.
6. IWHBYD Skull
Location: The Tower || Effect: Rare combat dialogue will be more common
This Skull is at the top of The Tower. An upgraded grapple hook is helpful here, but it may still take you some time to get up there. Having a Wasp or Banshee to fly on will make this far quicker.
7. Blind Skull
Location: Southwest region in first open-world area || Effect: Master Chief’s hands will be invisible and UI is disabled
If you’ve captured the FOB Golf, the southernmost Spartan Core collectible location should be revealed on your map. It’ll face a metal canyon and make finding this precise location easier. With a Banshee or Wasp, fly to the gap between the cliffs. There’s a smaller landing area underneath and west of this area. There’s a Skull near the very back.
8. Fog Skull
Location: Cliffs west of FOB Alpha || Effect: Motion tracker is disabled
The easiest route here is to fly with a Wasp or Banshee. As you’re flying around the cliffs, you’ll see a gap. It’s a small gap found between the bottom of the hexagonal platform and the mountain edge. There will be a makeshift camp that has some Elite helmets. The Skull is hidden between them.
9. Catch Skull
Location: North of Outpost Tremonius || Effect: Enemies will drop and throw more grenades
There’s a northwest island you can fly to. This area doesn’t have too much to see. Just stick to the coastline, and you will find a canyon with enemies. Destroy the enemies as they guard the pond with a tree stump that contains the Skull.
10. Famine Skull
Location: Southeast corner of the map east of FOB November || Effect: Ammo drops are reduced by half
Reach the island here by flying to it. Behind the rocks will be a ledge where you’ll see a dead Elite gripping the Skull.
11. Thunderstorm Skull
Location: West of FOB Juliet || Effect: Most enemy ranks will be upgraded
As you head west, you’ll see one pillar between the two islands. This will be near a mountain-like cliff. You’ll want to get on top of this solitary pillar as it has the Skull. Dropping down on it from a Wasp can help you get this.
12. Black Eye
Location: East of FOB Kilo || Effect: Shields will recharge only if you melee enemies
Find a waterfall that will be south of the Riven Gate. It’s hard to miss, so this might be one of the easiest Skulls to get as long you have an upgraded Grappleshot. You can drop to the bottom to find a cave behind the waterfall. This sits halfway up a cliff, so grapple to it. The Skull is on a stalagmite inside this entrance.
