Halo Infinite players are eagerly waiting for Cyber Showdown, the game’s third Season 1 event after Fracture: Tenrai and Winter Contingency, for more content. Although 343 Industries have teased the upcoming Cyber Showdown and Tactical Ops events, the company hasn’t revealed when exactly they will start. Thankfully, fine leakers on the internet have discovered and shared all the juicy details regarding one of the upcoming events. Continue reading for everything we know so far on the Cyber Showdown limited-time event start time and rewards in Halo Infinite.
Halo Infinite: When Does Cyber Showdown Start?
We should expect the Halo Infinite Cyber Showdown event to begin sometime in mid-to-late January, just like Winter Contingency. According to Halo Infinite Leaks & News Twitter account, this month’s event will precisely start on January 18, 2022, and last until January 31.
Halo Infinite: Cyber Showdown Attrition Mode Explained
Attrition is a new variation of the Slayer that pits two teams of four against each other like usual, however, each team starts with shared eight lives. You and your buddies will stop respawning once those lives have been depleted. Any downed comrades can be revived by going walking a glowy orb in the location where they last died and then holding down the X button on the Xbox pad or the Reload key.
The game is played in an Oddball-style best-of-three round format, with the winner being the first to win two rounds. Similar to other smaller team-based modes, Attrition can be played on:
- Aquarius.
- Bazaar.
- Behemoth.
- Live Fire.
- Recharge.
- And Streets.
Keep in mind that, just like previous events, Cyber Showdown’s 10 free Event Pass rewards are tied to Attrition matches. You unlock them one by one by completing Challenges specific to Cyber Showdown. Thankfully, similar to how it works in the Tenrai event instead of Winter Contingency, you can complete multiple Cyber Showdown Challenges each day.

Meanwhile, the in-game store will add four new items and bundles. First, the Neon Superfly bundle will include a neon visor, a Spartan pose with the Battle Rifle, and neon purple coatings for Mark VII and Yoroi armor cores, as well as the Battle Rifle and Warthog. In the Perfect Ascencion bundle, you can acquire an armor effect that shows an animated hologram Halo ring on your Spartan’s head. And ones that seem to not be parts of the bundles are the Synthwave death effect and blue-gold High Status armor coating. We will update this article once any new details are dropped.

A shame that another armor color I wanted is hidden behind a paywall. Well, at least I don’t have to buy a Funko Pop for it. Halo Infinite is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
