Halo Infinite sure is launching with a rocky start. The campaign was released without the series staple cooperative mode, and now the free-to-play multiplayer is plagued with yet another predicament. Over the course of the weekend, on Reddit and various social media, Halo Infinite players reported that they are having issues joining a Big Team Battle (12 vs 12) match. During high traffic hours, players often encounter Connection Lost error that redirects them to the main men. And if they managed to connect to a match, there is a chance that they will get thrown into a 3 vs 3 match or get a never-ending loading screen instead.
While the player base has not found a way to fix the issue themselves (since it is a backend/server problem after all), thankfully 343 Industries has acknowledged the problems and posted a fix following the Reddit thread going viral. The official Halo Support Twitter account wrote that the developer has made changes to the game’s online system to minimalize matchmaking errors in Big Team Battle. With that in mind, all you need to do is just relaunch the game to receive the update.
The team has made changes to our online services to help reduce the number of matchmaking errors when searching Big Team Battle. If you're currently playing #HaloInfinite, please close and relaunch the game to ensure you receive these changes. (1/2)

But if restarting the game, Xbox App, or your system (aka PC or console, whether it’s Xbox One or Xbox Series X) does not fix the Big Team Battle issue, then you should file a customer support ticket over at the Halo Waypoint site. You can also send a support ticket straight from the in-game menu.
This server-side issue is not exactly new. A number of Halo Infinite players reportedly were experiencing matchmaking issues or never-ending loading screens as well when the multiplayer beta debuts. However, back then the issue never gathered traction, as players were still able to queue for matches. Some Twitter users in the reply chain reported that restarting Halo Infinite will not always work especially if your game crashes to desktop while loading but I hope this fixes your matchmaking issue with Big Team Battle.
If you are still experiencing matchmaking errors after relaunching #HaloInfinite or you are seeing new issues, please file a new ticket at https://t.co/Ya2f8ZFtNS so the team can continue investigating. (2/2)
