First spotted in the Halo Infinite‘s Bot Bootcamp worn by a Spartan bot with the nickname of Meownir, the Winter Contingency update finally adds the cat ears helmet into the game. The highly-anticipated and comedic cosmetic is actually a type of helmet attachment called Purrfect Audio. Whether you just wanted to dress up your character in a cute costume or wear it ironically to rile up other players that hate cutesy and/or anime-y aesthetic in their sci-fi military game, here’s how you can obtain your very own cat ears helmet for your Halo Infinite Spartan.
How to Unlock the Purrfect Audio Cat Ears Helmet
Unfortunately, you will need to spend your hard-earned, real-life cash to get the highly sought-out Halo Infinite cat ears helmet attachment. The Purrfect Audio attachment is a part of the Cat Lovers bundle, available to buy through the in-game Shop menu, just to the right of the Iron Man-looking armor coating bundle. Priced at 1,000 Credits (or around $9), The Cat Lovers bundle contains:
- Faded Blush (battle-damaged pink and white) Mark VII armor coating.
- Purrfect Audio helmet attachment, the cat ears helmet you’re looking for.
- Tabby rare weapon charm, featuring a photo of someone’s cat.
- Halo: Reach Kat’s helmet rare weapon charm.
The Purrfect Audio cat ears attachment is available only for all helmet types for the default Mark VII armor core, from Cavallino to Mark VII. This means you cannot wear a cat ears helmet while using the Mark V [B] and Yoroi armor cores. I think it is kind of disappointing that you cannot wear the anime-inspired cat ears helmet with the traditional Japanese-inspired Yoroi armor, but hey, it’s something new and a somewhat interesting customization option.
