Thanks to the success of the brand-new Battle Pass system in Halo: The Master Chief Collection remaster (and the popularity of the mechanic as a whole), 343 Industries ended up adding the tiered unlock system to its latest title as well, Halo Infinite. Getting XP is the only course of action to unlock weapons, characters, and vehicles skins in the Battle Pass, thus driving Halo Infinite players to comb the internet for the best way to level up and farm XP fast. Unfortunately, with how limited the game modes are so far, I don’t think an extremely effective method to farm XP really exists. But still, these four tricks should help maximize your XP gains in Halo Infinite.
1. Always Do the Daily and Weekly Challenges
Daily and Weekly Challenges is pretty much the only free-to-play way to level up the new Battle Pass system. While Dailies are easy, the best way to level up your Halo Infinite Battle Pass fast is by doing the Weeklies [Update: Since December 1st, 343 Industries has updated the Daily Challenge XP payout, giving 200-300 XP for your first to third matches of the day]. Most of it involves:
- Kill a number of opponents with specific weapons or vehicles.
- Play a specific game mode.
- Finish a specific game mode objective.
As you chew through Weekly Challenges, they will become harder to complete; but you will get more XP in return as well — 200 to 350 XP per Challenge. Once you’re run out of Weekly Challenges, you’ll be able to tackle an Ultimate Challenge that rewards you with a truckload of XP and a Challenge exclusive customization option that’s not a part of the Battle Pass. After the Ultimate Challenge is conquered, then wait for the weekly reset and do the grind all over again. Thankfully it seems for some Challenges (ones that don’t mention PVP), playing against bots in the Bot Bootcamp also works.
2. Utilize the Double XP Boosts Consumable
While you’re grinding Daily and Weekly Challenges, you shouldn’t neglect the XP Boost consumables if you have one. For 1,000 Credits you can get them from the Premium Battle Pass or pay 200 Credits for the Boost and Swap Pack Bundles in the in-game store. The XP Boost will double your XP gains for 30 minutes. For the best result while XP farming, you should save any Double XP Boosts you have for Weekly Challenges instead of Dailies since the freebies from Halo Infinite‘s Battle Pass are limited unless you’re planning to buy more of them. In Season 1 Heroes of Reach, there’s only 19 XP Boosts available, for instance.
3. Change Current Challenges with Challenge Swap Consumable
In case you find your current selections of Weekly Challenges to be tough to farm, you can try swapping it with another one using the Challenge Swap consumable. As its name suggests, by spending 200 Credits for the Boost and Swap Pack Bundles, Challenge Swap will switch out one currently active Weekly Challenge for a random new one. Here’s how to use the Challenge Swap:
- From the main menu, open the Battle Pass menu.
- Switch to the Challenges tab
- Select the Challenge Swap icon (The icon looks like two rotating arrows) to the left of the Challenge you want to switch out.
- Confirm your choice by selecting Swap.
Don’t forget that any progress on a Challenge is lost if it’s swapped with a new one and you can check Upcoming Challenges by pressing R on the keyboard or Y on a gamepad.
4. Level Up Your Battle Pass with Credits
The last option to level up fast in Halo Infinite, unfortunately, involves money. Real-life money. Yep, you can actually boost Battle Pass levels each by paying 200 Credits, which costs around $2. However, you have to remember that Credits are only available to buy in increments of 500. This means you can’t buy it just for one Battle Pass level; forking $2 will let you level up twice and leave you with 100 Credits leftover. Crafty but unsurprising since it is a common premium currency practice.
